Mesothelioma MRI

Mesothelioma MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) is a non-invasive imaging technique that provides highly detailed images of soft tissues in a specific region, allowing for precise identification of tumors’ exact location. Unlike other imaging methods that utilize radiation or X-rays, MRI employs magnets to create the images. It is commonly employed for mesothelioma staging and developing treatment plans.

During the procedure, patients lie down on a table and slowly move into a cylindrical scanner, where a magnetic field captures the images. It is crucial for patients to remain still to ensure clear and accurate pictures.

Regarding the MRI tests in general, no special preparation is required before the procedure. Afterward, if necessary, a second MRI scan may be conducted to gather more detailed images. The duration of the procedure typically ranges from 40 to 80 minutes, depending on the size of the scanned area. However, there is no pain involved during the MRI scan
