Asbestos Found in School Supplies

Students have faced exposure to asbestos through their school supplies, raising significant health concerns. In 2018, asbestos was discovered in packs of Playskool crayons sold in dollar stores and online. This incident followed a similar event in 2015 when multiple brands of crayons sold in dollar stores were also found to contain the dangerous mineral.

The presence of asbestos in children’s products has been documented on several occasions. These findings highlight the persistent risk posed by asbestos in everyday items. Efforts to address and prevent such exposure are crucial to ensure the safety and health of students.
